"The Ballad of Benevolent Bravery"

Beneath the bright blue sky of a blessed, bustling town Beside a babbling brook where the best of men drown, Breathed a band of brothers, brave and bold Bearing burdens, beacons of stories untold.

But, brother, beware the brevity of kindness, be swift For life’s breeze blows brief, like a bird’s fleeting drift Biblical wisdom beckons, “Blessed are the meek,” For in their brave hearts, it’s compassion they seek.

The Bible tells of a boy with barley loaves, Bringing bread to a multitude, with baskets in droves. “Behold,” said Jesus, as he blessed the bread, With a bountiful heart, the hungry were fed. But bravery isn’t built in battles alone, It begins in the heart, in the blood, in the bone Be the balm for the broken, the blind, the bereft, For blessings befall those who bear gifts, not theft.

Be like the widow who brought but a mite, Giving all she had, though not much in sight Beneath her brittle hands, a bold love did burn, Blessing the offering, but big in return.

Bravery blooms in the bitter and bleak But it’s born in the moments we bend, not break To be brave is to bind up the wounds of the poor, Bringing balm to the orphans who knock at our door.

Bring them the brightness that banishes fear, Be the bearer of hope, bring them near For bravery begets more bravery still, When we bind up the broken, we bend to God’s will.

In the Book of Proverbs, wisdom’s banner is waved, “Better is a little with righteousness saved, Than vast revenues without justice or love,” For kindness and bravery come from above.

But how can we be brave, you boldly inquire? By burning with love, with a benevolent fire. By binding our hearts to the beaten and bruised, By blessing the broken, by being their muse.

Be the bread in the hands of the beggar who pleads, Be the blanket that warms in the bitterest needs. Be the bearer of burdens too heavy to bear, Be the brother, the sister who always is there.

In the belly of the beast, where the bold dare to tread, Be the beacon that brings the blind to be led. For bravery isn’t in battles or brawn, But in bringing the breath of hope at dawn.

Remember the story of Benaiah the brave, Who battled a lion in a pit to save Not for glory or gold, but for goodness and grace, For bravery and kindness aren’t bound by place.

But brother, please beware, bravery breeds light, It blossoms in darkness, it banishes night So be bold in your giving, be brave in your love, For the blessings you bring will be extra blessed from above

The ´Good News’ speaks clear, “Be not afraid,” For bravery in love is where kindness is made, Bring forth the fruits that are born of the brave, Bend down in service, the lowly to save.

Be the blessing that blooms in a barren land, Be the brave who extends a bountiful hand Be the bearer of light in the darkest of times, For bravery is born when benevolence climbs.

So bring to the orphans a bounty of care, Be brave in your love, and boldly declare: That kindness is brief, but it burns like the sun, A beacon for all until the battle is won.

Be brave, be bold, be the balm for the broken, For bravery in kindness is a bond unspoken. Bless others as yourself, with a heart pure and true, For the bravery you bring is the best you can do.

In the Book of Matthew, Christ bids us to go, “Blessed are the merciful,” for they truly know That bravery and kindness are bound in the soul, Like the blacksmith’s bellows, they burn and they glow.

So be brave, beloved, and boldly bestow The blessing of kindness wherever you go, Be the breath in the lungs of the lonely and lost For bravery in giving is worth any cost.

And as you bring blessings, be boundless and free, For bravery in kindness is the best we can be So be brave, please beloved, in the life that you live, For the brevity of kindness is the best we can give.
