About the Foundation

Verklin Foundation is a youth/women led nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women and children in remote and hard to reach communities. We are committed to fostering child protection, promoting gender equality, combating gender-based violence, mitigating stigmatization by providing opportunities for personal/career growth and development while also addressing the critical challenges posed by climate change.

To identify the less privilege girls and young women who have discontinued their empowerment process for one reason or the other.
To identify latent talents in the girl child/youth and accompany their development with intent to improving our society.
To promote holistic education (moral and curricular education).
To promote computer literacy.
Financially harnessing or sourcing for the payment of scholarship and subsidies for the empowerment of the girl child/youth.
To encourage personal environmental hygiene as well as the basics of primary health care.
To prevent and respond to gender-based violence, discrimination, and stigmatization through community education, survivor-centered support mechanisms, and advocacy for the rights, dignity, and protection of women and children.
To strengthen climate resilience among women and child-led households by promoting climate-smart livelihoods, environmental education, and community-led adaptation initiatives that reduce vulnerability to climate shocks.
To improve meaningful participation of women and girls in climate action and community leadership by building their knowledge, leadership skills, and decision-making capacity at household, community, and local governance levels.
To improve access to essential social support services for vulnerable women and children including psychosocial support, referral pathways, and community safety nets that address the long-term effects of inequality, violence, and climate stress.
To foster inclusive, community-driven systems that promote equity and systems that promote equity and sustainability by engaging men, traditional leaders, youth, and institutions as allies in advancing gender justice and climate-conscious development.
