Participants: Verklin Foundation and Declau Monthe Foundation

Objective: To assist some 33 children who were victims of the Mbankolo Landslide disaster which occurred on the 8^th of October 2023 with didactic materials so as to enable them go back to school.

Target: The target of this event were 33 children who were identified for assistance.

Assessment: It was realized that even after the 33 identified children who are victims of the Mbankolo Landslide incident were assisted, the is still need for more humanitarian engagement to be done in other areas like; Food, Sanitation and Medical Assistance.

 

Remarks from Local Administrative Authorities: Receiving the assistance on behalf of his municipality, the Lord Mayor of the Yaounde II Municipality Mr. Yannick Ayissi Eloundou thank the two Foundations for their kind gestures as stated that the gifts will go a long way to assist the children who are in need and also call on other organization to follow the examples of Verklin Foundation and Declau Monthe Foundation and help the children.

Relevance: It is important to always express humanitarian concern towards one another especially those who are in need. The Mbankolo Landslide was really a tragedy that befall the people of Mbankolo and its environs with over 31 identified deaths, which also affected their socio-economic life and capabilities. Donating didactic materials to affected children, will enable both the parents and the children during this school period.
